We love before-and-after screenshots.

But there’s a problem.

The screenshot doesn’t show why the changes were made.

When I redesign a website, I’m not just asking:

“How can I make this look better?”

I’m asking:

What isn’t working?

Maybe the hierarchy is wrong.

Maybe the content isn’t easy to scan.

Maybe the brand doesn’t feel credible.

Maybe the user journey is confusing.

Maybe the mobile experience was an afterthought.

Maybe the website looks good but doesn’t support the business.

The visual transformation is only the surface.

The interesting part is everything that happened before the final screenshot.

That’s where the real work is.
